Bobby Jones – Field Manager, Sussex County

Orange, N.J., native and former big-league pitcher Bobby Jones returns for his third season with the Miners in 2018 after piloting the squad to a 6.5-game improvement and the franchise’s first playoff berth last season.

Jones spent the 2013 through 2015 seasons as the pitching coach of the Rockland Boulders, helping to lead the team to the 2014 league championship and the Can-Am’s best regular-season record in 2015.

The lefthander spent parts of six seasons in the bigs with Boston, San Diego, Colorado and the New York Mets, appearing in 99 career major-league games. In addition, Jones was the starting pitcher in Game 4 of the 2000 National League Championship Series for the Mets against St. Louis.

Jones, who played a total of 15 professional seasons, was originally a 44th-round draft pick of Milwaukee in the 1992 draft.
